Set between 1995 and 2004 and based on real life events known as the Melbourne Gangland War in Melbourne, Victoria. Over thirty gangters, and their associates, as well as potential witnesses were murdered. Some of the crimes are still unsolved, and some of the cases are still before the courts, meaning the Series could not be aired in Victoria, although most Victorians who wanted to see it have seen it anyway. Filmed at as many of the original locations as possible. My wife's boss actually lived in the house where one of the gangsters was killed. (Murder took place after he sold the house and moved to Sydney) His old house appears in the show.

Why not merge some of these together like what we did in Inspector Rex, there's a lot of same model Commodore's specially round '97 model.

Second series is actually titled "Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities" and is set prior to the original series. In New Zealand the second series is known as "Underbelly: The Mr Asia Story", after one of the main characters, New Zealand drug dealer Terry Clark, known as Mr Asia. While it is listed on IMDB as the second series, it is really a stand alone series based on the concept of the first, ie a dramatised recreation of actual events, albeit with quite a bit of creative licence. As it is listed under the same IMDB number on IMDB I have labeled the episodes as they appear on IMDB, with the second series title added as an AKA

@ valiant1962 - just wondering, why are all your screen grabs from this show in 4:3 format? You're probably missing a lot of cars by doing this (getting cut out of the frame).

Third season is set from 1988-1999. It aired in 2010. I've finished uploading it in HD.

Also known as:

Underbelly: The Golden Mile (season 3)
Underbelly: Badness (season 5)

Seasons 4 & 6 are set in the 20s and I don't have much interest in vintage cars so I probably won't be bothering adding them unless there's interest.

There are indeed some people here who like these old cars (not me, though that I do not dislike them either :D) and it can be interesting to have Australian models

Fair enough. Going by other shows on this site that are set in the 20s (like Boardwalk Empire and Downton Abbey) it seems there is very little interest. Nobody has uploaded any shots from Boardwalk Empire in about 3 years, while Downton Abbey hasn't had any uploads since last year.

Series two dealt with the partnership of Bob Trimbole and Kiwi Terry Clark (1976-1983).

The series also covered other events including, the disappearance and suspected murder of Donald Mackay (1977), the Melbourne "Dock Wars" (1958-1982), the murders of Leslie "Les" Kane (1978), Les Kane's killer, Raymond "Chuck" Bennett (1979) and Bennett's suspected murderer and Les Kane's brother, Brian Kane (1982), the Sydney Gangland and Drug Wars (1980-1994) and the disappearance and suspected murder of Christopher Dale "Rent-a-kill" Flannery (1985).

Season three is set in Sydney from 1988-1999 and dealt with the rise of Middle East organised crime in the King's Cross area and in Sydney's Southern Suburbs.

The series also covered other events including, the Sydney Drug Wars (1990s), the career of John Ibrahim (1988-), the career of Kim Hollingsworth (1988-1995), the final years and death of George Freeman (1990), the Wood Royal Commission into corruption within the New South Wales Police Service (1994-1997), the career and crimes of Michael Kannan (1997-1999), the crimes of Danny Karam and his gang, The DK's Boys (late 1990s-1998) and Danny Karam's murder (1998).

Series four is set in Sydney from 1927-1936 during the Razor Wars and it dealt with the bitter rivalry between sly grog queen Kate Leigh and British-born brothel madam Tilly Devine.

The series had also covered other events including, the construction and opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (1927-1932), the Battle of Blood Alley (1929), the Kellet Street Riot (1929), the creation of the New Guard (1931) and the career of William Mackay from superintendent to the first commissioner of the NSW Police Service (1932).

Series five is set in Sydney from 2001-2012 and dealt with the crimes of Anthony "Rooster" Perish, including the murder of Terry Falconer and Taskforce Truo's investigation into the murder.

The series does mention some of the crimes that the detectives dealt with before the series started, these were:

The Bowraville Murders - The unsolved murders of three Aboriginal children in Bowraville, NSW between 1990 and 1991.

The Leppington Murders - The unsolved murders of Anthony Perish's grandparents at their house in Leppington, NSW that was allegedly committed by Falconer in 1993.

And series six is set in Melbourne from 1915-1927 and dealt with the criminal career and death of Joseph Leslie "Squizzy" Taylor.

The series had also covered the other events including, the First World War (1914-1918), the Fitzroy Vendetta Gang War (1918-1919) and the Spanish Flu Epidemic (1918-1920).

Series six also crosses over with Series Four with as Squizzy Taylor's former associate, John "Snowy" Cutmore had left Melbourne and joined the Razor Gang ran by another former associate of Squizzy Taylor, Norman Bruhn.

Series six also starred Nathan Page who had previously starred in series two, playing the role of "Ray Chuck" where in the series six, he played the role of Tasmania-born "Two-Up King" of Melbourne, Herny Stokes.

They should do a series seven, eight and nine.

Series seven could be set from 1937 to 1953, series eight could be set from 1954 to 1963 and series nine could be set from 1963 to 1975.

Correct. Season 6 occurs between 1915–1927, and since I'm not interested in cars from that time period, I won't be adding season 6. Also, I didn't even watch season 6, which makes me even less interested in it. Someone else should add it.

marioman3138 wrote I think these cars have fake plates! They should have Victoria wrote on them!

In some scenes, the series had reused the same number plates on different vehicles and in some scenes, the registration labels on the windscreen shows the real registration numbers of the vehicles with the false plates.

And I think the reason behind the vehicles having fake registration plates was that fact when the first series was being filmed, the Supreme Court had placed a suppression order on the series bring aired in Victoria due to the trial of Uzbekistani-born former kickboxer and bouncer-turned hitman, Evangelos Goussis who had just plead not guilty to the murder of the Moran Crime Family patriarch, Lewis Moran who was shot at the Brunswick Club Hotel in Brunswick, Victoria on the evening of the 31st March 2004.

Moran's bodyguard and his associate, Herbert "Bertie" Wrout was also shot along with Moran but survived his wounds.

On the 29th May 2008, Goussis was convicted of Moran's murder and Wrout's attempted murder along the murder of Lewis Caine who was shot in Brunswick on the night of the 8th May 2004.

On the 9th February 2009, Goussis was sentenced to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 30 years.

In 2006, Goussis's accomplice, Keith Faure was also convicted of the Moran and Caine murders and were sentenced to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 19 years.

Goussis's second accomplice and Faure's brother, Noel Faure was only convicted of Moran's murder and Wrout's attempted murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 23 years.

Noel died in Ararat Prison, aged 62 after suffering from a long illness on the 8th March 2017.

Both the Faure Brothers were the grandsons of Melbourne gangster, Norman Bruhn who led one of Sydney Razor gangs in the 1920s who was later shot and killed in Darlinghurst, NSW on the night of the 23rd June 1927.
