I just checked our bunch of Ascona C convertibles and - judged by what we can see in the pictures provided - most of them are actually the Hammond & Thiede (Karosseriefabrik Voll) ones they were promised as. Not this one, though: This is one of 434 Ascona KC3 convertibles, built by Keinath Cabrio-Bau GbR of Dettingen an der Erms. The Ascona website only lists one yellow KC3 being around and that would be a 1983 - but it has an Irmscher-face. So either it's the one in a different state of preservation, or a different one. |

Keinath also tried their hand on their own design sportscar in the 90s-early 00s. We have 1 or 2 on imcdb /vehicles.php?make=Keinath&model=GTC+Coup%C3%A9&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on |

^ That was Horst Keinath, one of the Keinath brothers. It's not the same company, even though the English Wikipedia states so. Keinath Automobilbau of Reutlingen (= Horst K.)built that sportscar, while Keinath Cabrio-Bau GbR of Dettingen an der Erms (the brothers), a subsidiary of Opel dealer Auto Keinath, built the Ascona and Monza convertibles, the Senator A Caravan and maybe a few other Opel-based conversions. |

Man, 0 out 2! Thats why for my edits I always try to find info beyond the various wiki pages. Meanwile I read in German wiki that there was a 3rd Ostermann company that did conversions back in the 50s (if they're right..). |
